UBEEGUIDE: DVLA CHECK CODE

In this Ubeeguide we will take you through the process of obtaining your DVLA check code.

WHAT IS A DVLA CHECK CODE AND WHY DO I NEED IT?

We require everyone wishing to use our Car Club and Car Rental services to supply a DVLA Check Code.

This is a code generated instantly by the DVLA online that enables insurers, rental/car club/car hire companies or any authorities to view/verify an individual's driving licence history in a secure way.

Without supplying a valid DVLA check code, you will not be allowed to drive one of our cars.

HOW MANY TIMES DO I NEED TO GENERATE A CODE?

CAR CLUB

Only once. Once you are fully registered to the platform you will not be required to supply another code unless you have any changes to your licence status.

CAR RENTAL

When you arrive at a Europcar station to collect your vehicle you will be required to supply a DVLA check code. The Europcar staff will be on hand to assist with this process.

WHERE DO I GET ONE FROM?

DVLA codes can be obtained from the official government site:

https://www.gov.uk/view-driving-licence

WHAT INFORMATION DO I NEED TO GET A DVLA CHECK CODE?

There are three bits of information you will need to provide online to obtain your code.

  1. Your driving licence number
  2. Your National Insurance number
  3. The postcode on your driving licence

If you have difficulty obtaining these, you may not be able to obtain your code online. Contact the DVLA via telephone who may be able to assist further.

Share your licence information

Scroll down to see this panel.

It is important that you select the “Share your licence information” tab to obtain the code. This is the code we will need to verify your licence history. You will need to enter this code on the app/website when prompted.

Each code is valid for 21 days and can only be used once. Once this code is expired you will need to follow the steps again to obtain a new check code.
